Suggest Treatment For Vaginal Discharge With Itchy Vagina Post Sex

I m previously getting vaginal discharge (white to yellowish and odourless) accompanied by itching. After a week I went to see a doctor and was given gyno travogen. The morning after, I felt extreme discomfort (burning & itching at least 3 times worse as before). It finally subsided after a few hours but I don t see a significant change in the discharge, if anything it is thicker and there s more coming out. Is this a side effect? Or does this mean I got the wrong prescription? the itching has mostly went away, only the discharge is problematic. Might also need to highlight that these symptoms appeared after unprotected sex with a new partner.

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Based on the description, it appears that you could be having mixed bacterial and yeast infection causing 'Vaginitis'.
Kindly do the following to overcome the symptoms.
1. Wash the area with mild antiseptic solution like Savlon thrice daily.
2. Take Tablet.Levocetrizine once a day to control itching.
3. Apply single dose antifungal medication Fluconazole as vaginal pessary.
4. You need to take a course of antibiotic Tablet.Metronidazole orally.
5. Wear loose fitting undergarments to provide proper ventilation and avoid friction in the affected area.
6. Abstain from sexual activities till the symptoms subside completely.
Maintain clean and good personal hygiene.
Gradually, your symptoms should subside and you should feel better.
