Suggest Treatment For Vaginal Infection During 22nd Week Of Pregnancy

Hi I have some vaginal infection and I am 22 weeks 4 days pregnant. It s non smelly yellowish discharge but too much and it s a little irritating also and itchy. My GP Suggested lomexin 1000mg ovule, for 1 time use only. Is it safe to use during pregnancy. It s my first pregnancy and I am worried .please advise. Thanks.

Hi,

I would advise culture &sensitivity test of the vaginal swab, followed by specific oral/local medication.

The vaginal suppository may not have any ad Erse effect..but it may not cure the problem if the causative organism is not sensitive to the medicine.

And in pregnancy treatment with trial & error should not be advocated.
