Suggest Treatment For Vaginal Infection

I have developed vaginal sores in the past two days and haven t been able to make it into the clinic because of weekend hours... I have severe burning and non-stop pain causing my stomach to hurt. What can I do in the meantime to ease these symptoms until I can see my doctor.

Hello,

Vaginal sores with burning and pain can be due to uro-genital tract infection. I suggest you to get urine routine examination and culture sensitivity to look for urine infection. In addition, vaginal swab culture should also be done to look for infection in vaginal tract. In the meanwhile, I suggest you to refrain from sexual activity since this may aggravate infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
