Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have frequent vaginal fissures and dryness . I use vaginal Premarin cream as prescribed . Small amount 3 times a week. I would rather not deal with constant use of cream . Is there something natural that I could use to prevent this . Is this a lifetime thing that I will always have to deal with . Will I have to use the Premarin cream for the rest of my life? I am uncomfortable most of the time with itching and dryness. I am 60 years old and very active swimming hiking running. This is making me miserable. I am not a candidate for oral hormone therapy I would rather do something natural . Please advise
I think you are facing vaginal dryness due to atrophy. You can add phytoestrogens to your diet like soya milk and beans. They will increase estrogen levels in your body.
You have to take constantly vaginal lubrification creams. They are different types of water-based and estrogen based. I think you should take estrogen-based vaginal creams.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
