Suggest Treatment For Vaginal Itching While Having Vaginal Yeast Infection

I have been using Estradiol transdermal System patch. I have been treated for a yeast infection twice now. The external vaginal itching has been going on since October. I have been to two doctors. Is this itching from this patch? No one can tell me why this itching won t go away!

Hello,

I can understand your concern. It would have been more helpful if you had included in your description the reason for your using this patch, the area of using the patch and if treatment of yeast infection helped you until you were taking treatment for that infection.

However, itching is a side effect of using Estradiol patch. However, it is infrequent to find itching due to transdermal patch only in the vaginal area and not anywhere else. We can assume that you have either recurrent yeast infection of the vaginal area or allergic reaction of the patch. To differentiate between the two, you can send your vaginal swab for laboratory analysis. Yeast or bacterial infection will be diagnosed in that analysis. If the report shows no infection, patch can be considered as a cause of itching and you can ask your doctor for an alternative treatment for your concern.

I hope this answer helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon!

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
