Suggest Treatment For Vaginismus

This is for my friend. She is married for 3 years, but hasn't yet undergone proper intercourse,as she can't insert anything in her vagina, as it is painful to her. Even vaginal scan also seems to hurt her.She has consulted gynaecholists and was detected as having severe vaginismus.She is 35+ now, can she ever have a fruitful sexual life? what method should she adopt to overcome vaginismus?
