Suggest Treatment For Varicose Vein Along With Hard Swollen Lump On Leg
I have a lengthy rap sheet of medical problems, but I am most concerned about something new...I had been developing a varicose vein in my left leg on the inner side at the level of the knee...This evening as I was walking all of sudden I felt an achy pain in that area and noticed that there is definitely a hard swollen lump and what looks like brusing on the surface of the skin...I have an appt with my Surgeon as I have a gastric pacemaker tomorrow but what can I do in the meantime? Should I be worried about deep vein thrombosis, or being that its at the skin surface maybe phlebitis...and is ice or heat better? Thank you...
varicose veins occur in a system of veins called superficial veins and as name suggests deep vein thrombosis occurs in a system called deeper veins.. varicose veins are more common in people who stand a long time and need not worry too much about it..
The only imminent feared complication would be bleeding which is seen in less than 1% cases which is also not very dangerous.. ice packs may help if you have severe pain now.
treatment depends on grade of varicose veins... which your surgeon will decide after examonation thank you
