Dr says I got vertigo & sinusitis, headache Prescribed meclizine, steroid tabs, clav-amoxicillin. Plus a steroid injection. Thing is, my face feels like I ve been punched in it, dizziness hasn t ceased and steroid causing me to be agitated/nervous. I m going to my ent dr so she can tell me what s going on. I m reluctant to take the meclizine for the vertigo because I don t like to mess with a lot of meds and the dr I normally visit ent specialist prescribed another medicine. I just want to know what causes vertigo and why my face hurts like this
These symptoms can be explained by sinusitis. Because the sinuses are inside out face bones, so when they are inflamed, they can cause swelling of our face. It may also be accompanied by redness and pain. So you should not worry, the treatment is a few days fo antibiotics.
Sinusitis also causes dizziness because the inflammation can go to the inside part of the ears. If you are going to your ent Dr, and you don't like too many medicines you may wait tell her prescription. For the time being, heat applications and paracetamol may be used.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman, General & Family Physician
