Suggest Treatment For Vertigo, Dizziness Drunken Feeling After Discontinuing Zoloft
I have been on pristiq for years at least 5. I recently went off it a week ago per dr. and started Zoloft per dr..after 4 days got rash on body contacted dr. she said stop Zoloft. off everthing now has been almost a week now. feel awful!! vertigo , feel hung over, dizziness, off kilter..how long does this last? I m afraid of feeling this way. mind feels foggy. see my dr. in 5 more days. anything I can do in meantime? had low lying headache that comes and goes. sleeping better, feeling calmer but hate this withdrawl.
The Zoloft contains Sertaline which is best used as an anti depressant from serotonin re-uptake inhibitor group. The vertigo, dizziness, drunken feeling after discontinuation of Zoloft is related to withdrawal symptoms from the immediate cessation of intake of long term consumed medication.
However, till you meet your doc after 5 days, it is greatly recommended to consume half of the previous dose of Zoloft to cover up these withdrawal symptoms.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
