Suggest Treatment For Vertigo, Headache, Hearing Loss And Profuse Sweating
•A 50-year-old woman is admitted with chief complaints of headache and decreased range of motion in her neck. She also complains of vertigo, hearing loss in one ear, profuse sweating, and uncontrollable eye movements. Her past medical history indicates that she was in a motor vehicle accident three days before her admission.
The history of accident 3 days before admission and current symptoms of vertigo, headache, hearing loss and profuse sweating indicate possible hematoma either epidural or subdural in nature compressing vital structures of the brain tissue parenchyma.
It is best warranted to: - Admit the patient in hospital - Check airway, breathing, circulation on priority basis - Access two wide or large bore intravenous peripheral access and start normal saline and ringer lactate separately - Give a neurologist consultation call - Prepare the CT department for urgent CT scan of the brain without contrast
Further management depends upon the reports and clinical progress.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
