Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was diagnosed with vertigo imbalance about 5 years ago, and I was given serc as a prescription for my vertigo. In the middle of 2012 I was advised to see a Neurologist due to recurring headaches and she replaced serc to pms topiramate and I am currently taking mps-topiramate; and since then I was taking 3 pills everyday, yesterday I had a severe vertigo attack. I m just kind a wondering does this medication helps prevent vertigo?
I reviewed your history. Topiramate is prescribed for treatment of migraine headache. You need to take drugs like cinnarizine which treat vertigo symptomatically. Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for prescription of drugs.
Hope this information is helpful to you.
Thank you
