Sir, my daughter suffering from viral fever, cold & cough for 10 days. consulted doctor and prescribed to use nicetomal syrup and clamp kid forte 3.5 ml. after the usage of 1 day skin rash occurred on back ,hands and foots. Is it any serious thing ? how to reduce skin rash ?
Hi. The viral fever can last so long in some patients. Since your daughter is a small child, and it is already 10 days, I would advise to undergo certain tests in particular : Blood - CBC along with Widal for typhoid. Urine Routine and microscopy, culture ans sensitivity if pus calls are positive as she is already under an antibiotic cover. X-ray chest and ultrasonography to see any other focus of infection which might have developed due to reduced resistance power. Change of an antibiotic Second opinion of another Pediatrician. The skin rash in babies can be due to viral exenthema or due to Typhoid too, investigations will give a proper picture.
HI Well come HCM In pediatric age group cold and cough symptoms seldom need any treatment, here the rash can be minimize with Syrup diphenhydramine according to age and weight, else no need for any further medication, take care ( Comment:- Children have got the nice defensive mechanism against the infection and this works quickly)
