Suggest Treatment For Viral Meningitis

I have had a throat infection twice in the last three weeks and ear infection once . when i first visited the doctors was quite sick with fever, aching body, constant head aches, I was diagnosed with a type of viral meningitis and given antibiotics. The throat & ear infection seamed to get better but on the last day of the antibiotics i started getting a rash appearing on inner elbows. It gradually spread to my arms and went back to the doctors, They thought it was a reaction to the medication. I also had a blodd test done for general health. A few days later my infection returned to my throat . On the first visit a swab was taken and results said a heavy growth of streptococcus was present. I went back to the doctor and was given a different type of antibiotics and received another blood test the 1st blood test showed high levels of potassium, in the iron studies showed low levels of transferrin saturation with high serum ferritin. in the haemotology moderate neutrophilia & monocytosis were noted. since then the rash / red dots are all over my body and have the characteristics of the butterfly rash on my face. I have been searching the internet and have seen similar symptoms in Lupus and Erylisipelas and rheumatic fever. Could you tell me what my next step should be in regards to testing to define the cause. Thank you James Smith 46 yerar old male

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hi,
Treatment for viral meningitis is mostly supportive.

Rest, hydration, antipyretics, and pain or anti-inflammatory medications may be given as needed.

Intravenous (IV) antibiotics should be administered promptly if bacterial meningitis is suspected.
No surgical therapy is usually indicated in patients with viral meningitis.
To improve your immunity you should take fruits, green vegetables, healthy diet.
antioxident also can be tried.
To diagnose SLE ,ANA profile can be done.
