Suggest Treatment For Viral Pleurisy

i have been diagnosed as having viral pleurisy and had an xray friday but awaiting results.I have still a lot pain especially on lying down so have to sleep upright! I did not have a cold/ flu or anything it just developed with a massive headache/pain/shoulder and rib pain. I am wondering how long it will take to recover, when can i lie down again to sleep and if goes on too ,long maybe there is an underlying other cause? Any suggestions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a viral infection. I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms. I also suggest to rest, eat a healthy diet and drink liquids. The symptoms should probably go away in 5 to 7 days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
