Suggest Treatment For Vision Deterioration, With Superficial Siderosis And Behcet S Disease
I have loss of vision with superficial siderosis, my vision over the past year has deteriated. Visual activity right unaided 6/90 right pinhole NC right near N left unaided /90 left pinhole NC left rear N A year ago I had acuties in order of 6/24 right and 6/18 left and was achieving near text size N8 right and left. my intraocular examination was unremarkable and the Dr notes that my dscs showed no cupping. Perimtry showed my fields to be reduced 30 degrees. My specialist wants to know if this is due to superficial siderosis. I also have Behcet s disease.Many thanks Becky

As per my surgical experience, the Behcet disease is a rare auto immune related disorder where you can get variety of clinical features as:
- Painful mouth sores
- Genital sores
- Arthritis
- Inflammation of parts of eyes
Hence, it is obviously related that your vision deterioration is pertaining to immune destruction of parts of retina or other cells responsible for the visual acquity.
