Hello and thank you for the answer!
Hallucinations, are the perception of an object or event in the absence of an external stimulus. Visual hallucinations have numerous etiologies like :
Mental illnesses (Schizophrenia, dementia) Medications (
Parkinson’s disease, depression, psychosis, and epilepsy medications may trigger hallucination symptoms),
Substance abuse ( alcohol or taking drugs ), Lack of sleep can lead to hallucinations etc.
There are few treatments for many types of hallucinations: hallucinations caused by mental disease, should be contacted a
psychologist or
psychiatrist. Speaking with a counselor can help you get a better understanding of what is happening to you.if you are hallucinating because of delirium due to severe
alcohol withdrawal your doctor might prescribe medication that slows down your nervous system. Abstaining from hallucinogenic drugs, managing stress levels, living healthily, and getting plenty of sleep can help reduce the prevalence of hallucinations.
Best regards!
