Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have vitamin D deficiency (23) that the number my doctor told me. I am 47 years old like three years ago they found out I have degenerative lumbar, my right shoulder and right knee and wrist have issues with a little bit of arthritis. But that concern me most is the middle of my chest is a deformity. Should I ask for more test and stop drinking 50,000 units of vitamin D is my third dosage and nothing is working.
Vitamin D deficiency is a common condition. In most of the individuals, supplementation is done by Vitamin D3 60000 IU per week for around 6 weeks. This helps to replenish the amounts.
You should stop drinking too. Alcohol in excess amounts is known to cause degenerative changes.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Seikhoo Bishnoi,
