Suggest Treatment For Vomiting Of Bile In A 4 Year Old

My 4 year old had a stomach virus that started late Friday night, with projectile vomiting but no fever or diarrhea. He hasn t vomited since 8am yesterday morning however over night we woke up to what looks like bile on his pillow case. He has been eating today and holding everything down. The bile is what worried me. Should I worry?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

The bile could be related to vomiting with an empty stomach and it is not concerning about anything serious. If this issue persists, I would recommend consulting with his pediatrician for a physical exam and some blood lab test (complete blood count, PCR, ESR) and an abdominal ultrasound.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
