Suggest Treatment For Watery Eyes And Mucus Build Up Of A 8 Month Baby
my baby is almost 8 mos. and his right eye is watery that is turning to mucus. He is also experiencing a dry cough only at night that bothers me a lot. Last week he got colds but not too much now. What should I do for his watery right eyes to keep it from having mucus build up? and also for his cough at night? Thanks hope you can help me for the best cure for him.
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic.
Cough and cold are viral 95% of the times in children. For cold you can use anti-allergics like Cetirizine and for nose block, saline nasal decongestants will do. Paracetamol can be given in the dose of 15mg/kg/dose every 4-6th hourly. I suggest not using combination medicines for fever, especially with Paracetamol.
For watery eyes I suggest repeated cleansing with cold fresh clean water and do not use antibiotic eye drops.
Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health. Dr. Sumanth MBBS., DCH., DNB (Paed).,
