Suggest Treatment For Weak Kidneys In A Diabetic Patient

patient having diabetes since last 18 yrs, in 2009 diabetic retinopathy & nephropathy developed at that time creatinine was 1.9 & blood urea nit. 68 recently since feb 2011 creat. gradually increasing from 3 to 7.3 & blood urea has reached to 125. recently we came to know through USG that the left. kidney is in normal size but the rt. kidney is shrinked (25 sq cm) kindly suggest the proper treatment required, coz the kidneys are weak but not failed.

Hi,
What you have mentioned the level of creatinine and urea is high normal creatinine level is 0.1 - 1,usually to patient with creatinine 7 we admit them in ipd,start with insulin and strict diet control is given and series of creatine blood test are done,
Then patient is started on ace inhibitor and strict diet control is given,
I recommend you to visit a nephrologist get his opinion.
