Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have gained 10 pounds in 3 months. I am constantly tired. I am 41 years old and have three kids so am super busy but finding it hard to get through the day, But worse then the weight gain is I always feel like my brain is in a fog and I am very forgetful lately. How can I determine if it is my thyroid and would there be something I could feel in my throat? Thanks, Sandra
To determine whether the weight gain is because of thyroid hormone problem, hypothyroid, you should get your thyroid function test. You said you are super busy and you are too stressed. Excess stress can be a cause of weight gain. the foggy brain can also suggest excess stress or may be depression. Both could result in weight gain. there are many other factors too, which could be the reasons for your weight gain. You could help yourself with a complete medical examination.
Hope I have answered your query. You can contact me for treatment options. Let me know if I can assist you further.
