Hello,

Your condition hypothyroidism is an important cause of weight gain. Yet, please don't worry. There are many ways to reduce your weight. A few tips for weight loss are to cut down the carbohydrates of all kinds. You can take protein rich meat and Omega fatty acids rich fish. You can have egg everyday. Cut down fats in diet. Eat more fruits melons are preferable instead of mangoes and bananas. Eat raw vegetables or just boil them and you can have.

You mentioned 30 mins exercise daily. Exercise must be tiring and you must sweat moderate to heavily only then you can burn your calories. If you do brisk walk for 30 mins, you burn only 100-200 calories. Completely cut down junk like potato chips, candies, chocolates, and drinks with sugars. Just check if you are taking any medication that may cause weight gain like anti-depressants. Initially you can cut a meal every alternate day in a week. Just try the above methods for 1 month and see if they can help you.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hello,

Thyroid abnormalities especially hypothyroidism causes weight gain. Any weight loss program consists of steps like self-monitoring of caloric intake and physical activity, goal setting, stimulus control, non-food rewards, and relapse prevention. A reasonable goal for weight loss in the setting of a medical treatment program is approximately 1-2 lb per week.

Weight loss maintenance goals are self-monitoring of weight, consumption of a low-fat diet, daily physical activity of approximately 60 minutes, minimal sedentary “screen time”, and consumption of most meals at home. The following tips would be helpful. Avoid carbohydrates. Avoid cool drinks and shakes with high sugar content. Avoid processed and canned foods.

Have fiber at least 40% of your daily diet content. Minimize fats and cholesterol. Moderate consumption of proteins. To stop cravings nuts and melons can be eaten the create fullness and decrease hunger. If all the conservative measures fail, bariatric surgery or liposuction are to be looked for.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
