Suggest Treatment For White Patches On The Throat , Sore Throat And Fever
14 yr. old son weak positive spot mono ...left tonsil inflamed white patches sore throat fever 101 strep and flu test negative............weak positive what does this mean....did rocephin shot and following with keflex for ten days...in case bacterial
As per your complain it seems like he has a viral infection along with secondary bacterial infection and the white patches are pus pockets formed secondary to infection ad weak positive indicates that there is milder infection but the infection is positive.. As he has been given antibiotic shot/injection and along with it he is taking oral antibiotics it is an appropriate treatment. Along with it make him do warm saline gargles, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen can be given. Steam inhalations and using a humidifier in his room can relieve.. Sip on luke warm water throughut the day, take soft diet and sufficient rest..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
