My 14 year old son who weighs approx 180 lbs and is 5 feet and 10 inches tall has just spiked a fever of 104. He has a sore throat. He has thrown up twice....what can I do for him other than give him acetaminaphine and ibuprofene alternately every 2 hrs. and a cool bath???
Hello, Fever with sore throat could be due to acute tonsillitis.Such cases can respond to acetaminophen and ibuprofen,I would like to add swarm salt water gargles for soothening effect and to relieve edema of throat. If still spiking after 24 hrs he might need consultation with doctor for a course of antibiotics.
