Brief Answer:
Pericoronitis.
Hi..
Can understand your concern..
As per your complain it seems that the gum flap above your wisdom tooth has got infected leading to inflammation and as per your explanation it seems that you may have an impacted wisdom tooth( an
impacted tooth is the one which does not erupt by itself).
Th gum flap gets inflammed either due to
injury caused if it has got bitten by opposite jaw tooth or if there is food debris and bacteria deposition between the gum flap and wisdom tooth leading to the all above symptoms as you explained.
I would suggest you to
consult a dentist and get evaluated by getting an
x ray done to rule out that whether the tooth will erupt completely or it is impacted.
In case it is impacted "Extraction" is the ultimate treatment followed by antibiotics and painkillers.
In case it is not impacted and will erupt completely scaling is to be done for cleaning the space between the flap and the tooth followed by irrigation with
hydrogen peroxide,
betadine and saline followed by antibiotics an painkillers.
In case the condition does not resolve or recurrences occur you can get the gum flap excised under local anaesthesia.
Hope your query is solved..
