Suggest Treatment For Wound In The Head Due To Hit

Almost 48 hours ago my husband got hit in the head by a wooden object (at least I think it was wooden) We were in a dark storage unit. He felt fine, but I saw a cut about an inch on his forehead, about half an inch from the center of his head on the left side, right side if you re looking at him. He felt a little light headed for about 5 minutes and then went right back to cleaning out the storage unit. He has been saying his memory is worse than usual, but very mildly. We don t have health insurance for him, what do you suggest we do? Should we go to the ER?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I suggest you to:

Wash and disinfect the wound to remove all dirt and debris.

Use direct pressure and elevation to control bleeding and swelling.

When wrapping the wound, always use a sterile dressing or bandage.

Use an antibiotic cream for local treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
