Suggest Treatment For Wound On Head

My sister, has had a "wound" that started in the middle of her head. She had very bad dandruff and has a nervous habit at picking at her scalp, which is why this wound was created. She has had this for about a year now. Constantly picking and the wound moving slowly up her scalp to her forehead. It is now in the middle of her forehead and she has been doing very well at not picking at it, for obvious reasons, she is embarrassed of it and now people can see it. However, over the past few days it has gotten progressively worse. There is now two wounds, relatively close together. The skin around the wounds are red and she is claiming that they feel numb. Should she be worried? Is it possible that she has gotten bacteria in there and now has some bacteria that is flesh eating? Should she seek medical attention? What are the concerns her for MRSA? She has a small child, 3 years old, I'm concerned for transmission for my neice as well.

Thanks for posting your query to health care magic.
you need to take care for wound . immediately contact to local surgeon for proper cleaning and dressing of wound as if infection can worse the condition .you also consult to dermatologist for dandruff problem as scratching will again create wound .
I suggest to collect wound swab for culture and sensitivity examination and send to microbiology lab . It will suggest you organism responsible for infecion and treatment option for it . You will require systemic medication along with local care of wound .
