Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I think I may have a yeast infection. I m not really sure what to do. Who should I go see about it? The hospital? The clinic? My family doctor? I ve never been to the doctors about anything this personal before. How do I treat it? How long would it take to treat?
If you really have a yeast infection there’s nothing to be ashamed about. You should see a dermatologist, and as long as the affected area is not too big an anti-fungal cream will heal your skin. The dermatologist will first make sure that it is really just a fungal infection and nothing else. He/she will do that with a swab or scratch test which will NOT hurt and you will be fine soon. don’t wait too long, the earlier you get the right treatment the more easy you’ll get over it.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Alexander Davis, General & Family Physician
