Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 18 male. I have a hanging lump next to my uvula. I get tonsil stones regularly and noticed it today when I had removed said tonsil stone. I'm not to worried about it because I eat well and brush normally. However I am a smoker. I also have a yellowish tint to my tongue and it seem "fuzzy". I feel this is because I do forget brush my tongue at times. Anywho, could you provide me with any information about this lump.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain a lump over the uvula that is having yellowish tinge seems to be due to abscess formation over the uvula that can be due to infection while can also be due to post nasal drip or inflammation caused due to smoking.. I would suggest you to start gargling with warm saline solution.. Do antiseptic mouthwash gargles.. You can also limit smoking and also take a soft diet.. In case if there is no improvement consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like throat swab culture can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.. You can be advised antibiotics for relief..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
