Suggest Treatment Post Broken Ankle

I fell and broke my ankle. I had surgery 12/7/15. I have a plate and 8 screws. I fell again Friday. I was totally on the healing mend. Now, my X-rays show a bone fragment in the front of my ankle. The doctor who helped me didn t seem confident in orthopedics, as he does not specialize in it. He didn t offer to put me in a cast, or even offer a brace. I had to ask! He also said I could stand in it in 3 days or so. He didn t think I should have surgery on it bc of all my ankle has been through already. I would like to know if I should be in a cast? Any thoughts would be helpful. I have the pic of the X-ray but can t seem to copy and paste it here?
