Suggest Treatment To Be Taken After Bitten By A Dog

A street dog did try to bite me yesterday evening on left leg below knee.Due to my thick jeans pant it did not succeed but it did leave some teeth mark on my leg.Immediately i washed it with soap and applied turmaric. Then went to Doctor and took a titanus injection.It s not troubling me at all.Whether any further treatment is required?

Hello,

I understand your concern. You made the right call to use soap and water and going to the doctor for the tetanus shot. Good thing the jeans served as a barrier.
You did not specify whether there was any break in the skin. If not, then there is nothing else you should do. If the skin was broken and there was blood, still the measures you took by cleaning it and getting the shot should be enough. Although, I would have prescribed an antibiotic cream.
If, however, you notice any redness, swelling or pain in the bitten area, then an antibiotic is mandatory.
