In 2011 I had a tonsilectomy and adjoining lymph node diseased w ith localized amyloidosis, It will be one year that I have suffered severe head pains on the other side of my face. The other tonsil is also diagnosed with amyloid.I have tried many things for the pain that goes from my shoulder to the top of my head, My ENT doesn; t want to rmove the tonsil for the amyloid has spread into the surrounding tissue. Hello,

Tonsilectomy will be the treatment of choice. Consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated. As a first-line management you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief. Warm saline gargles can provide symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
