Suggest Treatment To Manage Pain Due To Preauricular Surgeries
Hello my daughter is 6 & she has had 2 failed prearicular surgeries failed on both ears. now the holes are gone that naturally released the infected liquid. She s always in so much pain her face burst on both sides skin heals then it happen all over again leaving a pea to bean size hole in her face. I no longer trust her ENT he promised this would be a simple surgery that heals in 7 days & nothing about it recurring for 2 years she was never in this type of pain before. Please help me
Hi, Preauricular sinus is notorious for recurrence, the most important cause of which is incomplete removal of the track. Usually track is delineated by methylene blue before surgery. In your case, I think a more extensive removal is needed. And since this is a recurrent case, it will be a meticulous procedure. My advice is to find a skilled surgeon and go for a revision surgery. Otherwise, recurrent infections, antibiotics and drainage will be troublesome for the child.
