Suggest Treatment To Prevent TMJ Disorder Recurrence
Hello Sir,
I am suffering from TMJ, my dentist suggested me do stress reliving exercise, and it really resulted positively and my pain in tooth and joint was cured, but it occurs every 15 days if discontinue doing yoga. the TMJ occurs very often like a attack , kindly help me how do i prevent recurrence. and what shall be the right treatment at this stage.
I have gone through your query and can understand..
As per your complain it seems that TMJ in your case is due to stress and when you stop doing yoga there is a possibility that stress increases and it can lead to certain mal-habits like teeth grinding habit and it can exaggerate TMJ.. You should consistently do stress relieving exercises, take a soft diet. When there is pain you can also take painkillers and muscle relaxants. Take soft diet.. Avoid excessive mouth opening.. Massage the muscles over the jaw joint progressing towards the neck with finger tips in round gentle motions.. You can also do warm compresses .. In case if still there is pain you can e advised to wear mouthguard..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
