Suggest Treatment To Reduce BP And Cholesterol Levels
I am 65 years old. Great chloesterol levels pulse in the mid 60s but my blood pressure is about 145 over 85 to possibly 90 fairly consistently. I am 70 inches tall work out about 4 times a week primarily at the gym and weigh 198. I want to lower my blood pressure. I currently take a number of vitamins per day. Started drinking green tea and watch sugar and salt intake. Question: My doctor thinks I have hardening of the arteries since my cholesterol levels are good. Will taking Safflower pills with CLA lower my blood pressure
Both Safflower pills and CLA contain linoleic acid which is an unsaturated fat and is thought to be good to lower cholesterol but none of them have any role in lowering the blood pressure. I would encourage you to continue the healthy lifestyle you are already having and follow the instructions of your doctor related to blood pressure treatment. Very likely he will prescribe one of the medications to lower blood pressure.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General & Family Physician
