General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Incomplete data like age, gender, other lab tests such as liver function tests, blood sugar, HbA1c, kidney function tests and lipid profile not mentioned. You have a borderline high triglyceride. Lifestyle changes seemed to be ineffective in reducing your triglycerides. Continue the above mentioned lifestyle changes along with avoiding smoking and alcohol (if any), weight control, see that your blood sugar is well controlled and HbA1c is within the normal range. If the above measures fail, then you will have to take medications like statin or fibrates or niacin to reduce the high triglycerides.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
