Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Age: 20; Height: 6'1; Weight: was 160 lbs 5 months ago now 145 lbs; How can I tell if I'm depressed? (Especially when when these online diagnostic tests were written for the lowest common denominator) I've lost about 15 lbs since the last time I weighed myself 5 months ago. Some days i just don't eat. I'm irritable. I always procrastinate. I try not to think about where my life is going, but I usually end up lying awake till 2 in the morning thinking about it anyway. I can easily sleep 14 hours a day, but it isn't restful sleep. I'll sleep for about 5~6 hours straight then wake up every hour and a half roll over and go back to sleep till I'm absolutely forced to wake up. Even then I'm still tired. I am not active at all. Have little energy. Think depressing thoughts when my mind wanders. Occupy my time with escapist activities like watching tv/movies or to a lesser extent in recent years reading. I have noticed over the past five months I shy away from social activities, due to the anxiety of being judged. I've had days where I interact with only a few people and these interactions are as short as I can possibly make them.
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, you must be having some functional elements and that must not be moderate or severe but it could be mild in intensity but enough to cause some ill effect, and for that try to control your thoughts, be positive, try some exercise and yoga would be fine for this, else this is nothing to worry, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
