Suggest Treatment To Reduce Weight Gain Caused By Thyroid Problem

I'm a Hypothyroid Patient and on 100mcg Eltroxin/daily. would like to know how to reduce my weight because its just due to thyroid. I'm 28 yrs old, weigh 83 kg and am 5ft 7inches tall. Would also want to know the do's and don'ts in eating for hypothyroidism.

I am so sorry to hear about this weight gain issues that you have reported and the thyroid problems. Weight gain associated with hypothyroidism is best handled by adjusting your medications. I will suggest that you talk to your doctors to do a TSH level and make sure that your hormonal supplements are adequate or make the necessary adjustments. Feeding is same. There is no special diet for hypothyroid patients unless there is a specific cause that would love to be addressed.
