Suggest Treatment To Reduce Weight While Having Family History Of Diabetes

Hi! About two months ago my doctor told me that I needed to slim down a little (I am 5'5" and 159 lbs.) I have been cutting carbs and fat, counting calories, and greatly increasing my activity level but have not lost a pound. My family has a history of diabetes and being at a healthy weight is very important to deter that. What else can I do?

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this difficulty cutting down on your weight. For sure it is very important to control this to help prevent diabetes. I congratulate you on the willingness to take on this. the fact that you have not lost some kgs already in no way means you are not doing a good job. Not putting on extra kgs is also a good start. two months is small time and I will advice that you intensify your diet checks, regular exercises and lifestyle modifications. Overtime, you would get better results. Remember over night weigh loss is never a sustainable achievement.

I hope this helps. I wish you well.
