i have acne on my back, it looks like pimples but it s not. it doesn t itch but leaves a scar. it doesn t bother me but makes my back look bad. it won t stop.it s starting to appear on my front shoulders. what kind of treatment should i use to get ride of it? what is it?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have acne scares on back which occur when clogged pores of sebaceous gland filled with sebum, dead skin and bacteria get infected. It is due to infection of hair follicle leading to folliculitis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to use product containing benzoyl peroxide. You should wash your back and shoulder area with mild soap and cold water twice a day , exfoliate your face once a week , apply aloe vera gel and apply azelaic acid containing cream twice a day as this is safe and natural extract of cereals. If condition doesn't start getting better in a month then consult dermatologist. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics course ( clindamycin or minocyclin ) at least for 10 days and you can go for microabrasion and chemical peeling for permanent removal of scars.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
