General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
Understand your concern
You have severe ingrown tail with tissue infection and inflammation that produce the swelling. I advice you to consult the general surgeon as early as possible to remove the ingrown nail.
Doctor will definitely go for minor surgery remove the affected nail totally and then it will grow normal again.
Nest step is to treat infection ans swelling.
Oral antibiotics like cefixime,
anti inflammatory painkiller like Acelofan-SP,
topical application of steroid plus antiseptic ointment like betadine
Soak injured part in warm water with added vinegar to reduce the swelling.

Hope this may help you
Best regards
Dr. Sagar
