Hi! Welcome to Healthcaremagic.
I read your query. Swelling in gums can be due to periapical or periodontal infection generally. Root canal treatment is the way to treat a periapical infection. Dont worry, many a times theres is exacerbation of chronic abscess on starting Rct and swelling increases or appears which was not there before starting treatment.
Get your Rct completed. You can ask your dentist to give you antibiotic and antiinflammatory course for swelling. Also do warm saline rinses which will bring down swelling. Take multivitamin and good diet.
Hope the answer helps. Thank you!
