First of all, you need to stave off completely from gluten -containing foods. Only when you completely avoid gluten, will your intestines heal and absorption of nutrients will increase.
Hairloss usually stems from deficiency of protein and
vitamins and minerals in the diet which is common for people suffering from celiac or
gluten sensitivity due to
malabsorption.
You need to include protein-rich foods such as milk and milk products like cheese, yogurt/curd and if non-vegetarian, eggs, meat, fish and chicken in your daily diet. Non vegetarian foods will also take care of anaemia as they are rich in easily absorbable iron. You can take B complex vitamins which will include B12, folic acid and Vitamin C.
Calcium deficiency is also likely in celiac cases which increases the risk of
osteoporosis. Increase intake of calcium through dairy products mentioned above. Get a bone density scan done to check for any risk of osteoporosis. You can take
calcium supplements also but remember calcium is best absorbed through natural foods.
Limit intake of tea/coffee as they will further reduce absorption of important minerals like calcium and iron. Avoid these beverages just before or after meals as they reduce absorption of minerals from food.
Hope this answers your query. I will be glad to guide you if you need more advice regarding
celiac disease.
