Suggest Ways To Bring Down Blood Sugar Levels

My glucose has been 250 - 287 for a couple weeks. Can t bring it down. I eat 2 small meals a day and exercise in the pool 4 days/week. Have be taking 15 mg glypicide before each meal. Is this ok? My reading was normal about 2 months ago. I cheated a couple weeks ago and can t bring the glucose down. Can I raise my dosage? Will my number eventually go down?

Hi,

If your blood sugar levels have been consistently high, it is important to speak with your healthcare provider to adjust your treatment plan. Here are some general tips to help lower blood sugar levels:
* Monitor your carbohydrate intake: Carbohydrates are the main source of glucose in your body, so it's important to keep track of how much you're consuming. Focus on eating healthy, whole foods that are low in carbohydrates, such as leafy greens, non-starchy vegetables, and lean proteins.
* Exercise: Regular physical activity can help lower blood sugar levels by increasing insulin sensitivity. Swimming is a great low-impact exercise, but it's important to check your blood sugar levels before, during, and after exercise to prevent hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).
* Take medications as prescribed: It's important to take your medications as prescribed by your healthcare provider. Glypizide is a medication that helps lower blood sugar levels, but increasing the dosage without consulting with your healthcare provider can be dangerous.
* Stay hydrated: Drinking plenty of water can help flush excess glucose out of your system and prevent dehydration.
* Manage stress: Stress can cause elevated blood sugar levels, so it's important to find healthy ways to manage stress, such as meditation, yoga, or deep breathing exercises.

It's important to work with your healthcare provider to develop an individualized treatment plan to manage your blood sugar levels. They may adjust your medications or recommend additional lifestyle changes to help bring down your blood sugar levels.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
