Suggest Ways To Control Blood Sugar Levels While On TB Medications
Hello Dr. My mother is diabetic and recently she is diagnosed with tuberculosis. And now while taking tb medicine her blood glucose level has reached 423. Can u suggest some way to control blood glucose?? And please suggest an appropriate diet chart for patient
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, it is not the anti-tubercular medicine that caused the high glucose level, but it could be due to uncontrolled diabetes, and it need to be managed on tight rule basis and for that numbers of test need to be done like random blood sugar, fasting blood sugar, post meal blood sugar and more important is Hb1Ac after taking the test result of that patient clinically being examined too and then anti-diabetic suggested and some time it may requires changing of drug if needed and for that patient need to be in regular follow up, it is better to see the endocrinologist for better management hope this information concern.
