Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. Metformin (metsmall) is the first line therapy in diabetes and is very safe also. But serum urea and creatinine should be measured to find out about your kidney function. Your sugar level for fasting and PP is high. If this reading is after taking medication then you should approach your doctor for adding another drug. In such case i would recommend adding DPP4 inhibitors like sitagliptin. But if you cant afford it and want cheaper one then i would recommend thiazolidinediones like pioglitazone. Better avoid sulfonylureas as the long term outcome of it is not satisfactory.
