Suggest Ways To Control High Cholesterol Levels In An Obese Person
I have a high cholesterol level of 341, LDL 254 Triglycerides 265 . I just 23 , and I don t want to start medication , though I am overweight by almost 20 kgs and I have started exercising And dietery restrictions too. Is all this enough , or I have to start medication Regards Ayush
Hi Ayush, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Based in the lipid profile report you have furnished, it appears that the values of cholesterol, LDL and triglycerides are substantially higher than normal range. Moreover, since you are stating to be obese, it should be noted that you cannot be treated by means of diet and exercise alone. You need to take cholesterol lowering medications along with to bring down the levels to normal and keep them under control. Later, depending on your response, the medication dosage can be lowered. Kindly consult Physician for appropriate assessment and treatment. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
