Suggest Ways To Deal With A Partner Addicted To Methamphetamine
hi im MAtt my boyfriend is on meth he has been doing it for years we have only been together for about a year i have tryed phisicly stoping him mentaly stoping him he just keeps saying its not hurting him his hands are geting hard i told him he has to stop somthing is going to happen eventualy what can i tell him that he doesnt see or feel that could be eventualy kill him ,i have seen other people using it longer than him i would never tell him that but i need to make him stop he wont go to any rehab ,i just think if i can tell him the things that are getting distroyed in his body i will have a chance i cant just leave him and tell him its me or the drugs i just dont know were to begin
Addiction is a very difficult problem. You can talk to him about some of the serious health effects like: -- Hypertension -- Seizures -- Loss of consciousness -- Panic attacks etc.
I would suggest you try to get him to attend meetings first/see a psychiatrist to explore his use and causes of use. At the end of the day you need to talk to him, tell him how its affecting you and how concerned you are about this. It is a long road ahead. I wish you both all the best.
