Suggest Ways To Keep Up With Hygiene When Diagnosed With Genital Herpes
Hello, I was diagnosed with Genital herpes type 2 a week ago. She gave me my pap and an IUD check. I was having pain in my groin area as well as three bumps that appeared on the outside of my vagina. All were itchy but i assumed that they were rasor bumps from shaving 2 weeks prior. She explained to me that i would need blood work done and that the groin pain was an indication of infection. Since all of this i am just paranoid i am scared to touch any part of my body, while showering while scratching while anything! My doctor told me to call if i have another outbreak but should I call anyway so she can give me meds? My question is how to i keep up with hygiene? do i wash my hands after a shower as well? how can i keep from spreading this to other parts of my body?? The doctor did not give me any information i just recieved a call and was told i had type 2 genital herpes the new one .. whatever that means
Type 2 herpes is the type that is normally seen in the genitalia region. Type 1 is more commonly associated with oral infections.
It would not cause wide spread infections of all areas of your skin but would be limited to the areas mentioned. Genital herpes or oral herpes infections.
I hope this helps
