Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I stopped smoking 8 months ago after smoking for almost 20 years. I am 68 years old, pretty active. 5 6 tall and used to weight 110lbs. I am now 135.5lbs and it is very uncomfortable for me. I did eat more than usual for the first 4-5 months and gained about 12lbs at first but then cut right back and now eat less than I did before smoking but still seem to be gaining. I now have a significant pot belly that is affecting my level of activity. OK it is winter so I am not gardening etc. but I do ten-pin bowl competitively 3 times a week and take care of my elderly mom in law and do the usual housework and chores here and help my husband with his home improvement projects. What can I do to reduce my weight by about 10lbs, especially on the belly? Thank you in advance - Erica

Suggest Ways To Lose Weight Around The Stomach
Hello, Your weight gained due to excess eating before few months. To reduce weight you can take less fatty foods and more fruits with green leafy vegetables. You can practice one-hour active exercise like brisk walking, running, abdominal crunches exercise etc. daily. If needed you can take help of nearby trainer while doing exercise and can plan your diet chart as well. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
